Travel Porn: Chiang Mai, Thailand

One of the first things you notice when you travel to Thailand is the abundance of street food. It is easy to eat every meal of your trip on the bustling streets.

This picture is from the Sunday night walking street market in Chiang Mai. These two women are serving 5 different types of Pad Thai for just 15 Baht each. That is about $0.50 per serving! Oh how I wish I was there right now with a plate of noodles and a bag of Green Papaya Salad!

  1. I loved the night walking market in Chiang Mai! We ate these really great fried bananna rolls with sweetened condensed milk on top of them (and no matter how many places I try, the mango and sticky rice just doesn’t taste the same here…)

  5. Chiang Mai and the area around it was my favorite part of Thailand, despite the lack of beaches. I thought it was more laid back and hassle free than the other areas I visited in the country. I assume if I had gone to less touristy islands, I would have enjoyed those as well though.

And yeah, the market in Chiang Mai was great. Despite the ridiculously low prices, I still somehow always managed to spend more than I had planned–and all I ever bought was food.

  9. Its the thing you miss the most when you go home. You don’t even realise it that much when you are there but at home you find yourself wanting to get some street food.
