El Nido Palawan Philippines Los Cabanas Beach

Travel Porn: El Nido, Palawan, Philippines

Travel the Philippines and you will undoubtedly end up on a gorgeous beach. It would be impossible not to. It is a country after all that consists of 100′s of islands. I have two favorite beaches in the Philippines and this one just outside of the little town of El Nido on the island of Palawan is one of them.

I did not hear about this beach in any travel guide.

It was some friendly locals who gave me the tip to head out of town to find the really nice beaches. It was just a short 3km tricycle ride out to Nacpan Beach or as it is commonly referred to Los Cabanas.

I happily lazed on this beach for the entire day because lets face it I am happier on dry sand than in the water with the giant sea creatures. I strung my trusty travel hammock up amongst the palm trees, read ‘The Beach”, and frolicked in the shore break with my boyfriend.

As I sit here in Germany I would love to hit the rewind button and time travel back to that day in El Nido! I guess I will have to settle for a bit of Travel Porn instead.

I loved the little islands in the Philippines.. The towns didn’t woo me in any way although I will say El Nido I think was the most charming. Hope you make it up there!

  3. I love beaches, but my husband hates the little OCD about the sand, and he doesn’t like getting wet) so I very rarely get to go.

I am going without him to the South of France and Portugal in a couple of weeks, and I am hoping to score some beach time with out him ;-)

He doesn’t like the BEACH?!?!?! That is blasphemy in my world ;) Hope you manage to get some beach time in on the Mediterranean. You can always sneak over to Hawaii without him and I will make sure all you beach needs are met!

Sorry, that’s not Nacpan beach. Los Cabanas is about 3 Km South of El Nido’s town center. Nacpan beach is about 14, 15 Km North of town. Nacpan is bigger, wider, with more and finer sand. Google it and you can see how beuatiful it truly is!

My bad! I was told that Nacpan was also called Los Cabanas! This is Los Cabanas than! Thanks for letting me know the mistake!

  6. ayan says:

Nacpan is really nice… and virgin, at least, for now

Coming from Hawaii I am all to familiar with non-virgin beaches! It is always nice to find one that still is secluded!

  7. It was in Rio where everyone goes to Copacabana or Ipenema. I asked someone at a restaurant and they directed me to the beach the locals go to. It was about 15 years ago so I don’t remember the name of the beautiful beach but there was awesome body surfing there. I like to ask people at restaurants or small stores where the locals go.
