Luang Prabang, Laos
Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Laos. It was my favorite place that I visited in Laos. The town is known for its architecture and for the many Buddhist temples and monasteries. Every morning at dawn hundreds of monks walk the quiet streets collecting alms. I highly suggest waking up for this event at least once whiles visiting Luang Prabang.
This picture was taken at the Wat Xieng Thong temple. The Wat contains numerous shrines, monk residences, pavilions and gardens. The Wat Xieng Thong is one of the most important monasteries for Laotian culture.
I sneaked this picture of one of the young monks talking to a friend. I love how it feels so intimate yet so removed. A naughty glimpse into a private world in Luang Prabang, Laos for this piece of travel porn.
Have you been to Luang Prabang? If so what did you think of the town?

Luang Prabang totally won a piece of my heart! I spent a little over a week in the town doing yoga and reading by the river. It was some of my favorite times in Laos! Hope you make it that way!
That is a sneaky photo
Would love to visit through Laos. Seems so remote and relaxed compared to Edinburgh at the moment.

To be honest Laos wasn’t my least favorite country I visited in SEA. I loved Luang Prabang but the rest of the country didn’t win me over. I know most people rave about Laos. Maybe I missed something. On the other hand I really enjoyed Vietnam and would love to go back and explore more of it!
Beautiful photo! I would love to be in Laos right about now!
